“I’m an abstract artist.”
“Where do you draw your inspiration from?”
“I’m very interested in prisons, which I think is reflected in my work. I’ve done a lot of research on prisons, and have even been able to visit a few.”
“What was the most interesting thing you learned in your research?”
“The fact that many prisons are privatized now— they’re run by corporations and traded on the stock exchange. It can almost be seen as modern day slavery. When the stock market crashed a few years ago, prison stocks did surprisingly well.”
